R.I.P Jerry van Rooyen
Yesterday, Dutch composer and musician Jerry Van Rooyen died at age 80. His work has always been an important contributor in Die Schallplattenpolizei’s Dutch funk mixes, and we wish to extend our sincere condolances to the Van Rooyen family. Jerry will be missed, and may his music find its way to many ears both young and old for generations to come.

Collaborating with SoulTrotter, we took the best of our Dutch Funk mixes and brought them to the battle grounds! We made this mix as a free give-away for Rock Ya Soul Session 2007, which also happened to be the Black Soil Hip Hop Film Festival’s afterparty in Amsterdam.
