Bulgaria’s premier celebration of music, battling and everything hip hop is coming to Sofia, in its 11th incarnation. As a “young people’s festival”, Jam On It is all about love, friendship and happiness. Frank the Tank will be there for the second time, dropping some heavy funk bombs out there. The Teutonic Funk Experience was some experience indeed! We kicked off our tour in Berlin, spinning music at Shoe’s opening exhibit. There was funk, some dancing, a lot of beer and of course Shoe’s amazing art work. So massive props to Akim Walta (From Here to Fame) for taking care of us so well.

R.I.P. - Jerry van Rooyen

Yesterday, Dutch composer and musician Jerry Van Rooyen died at age 80. His work has always been an important contributor in Die Schallplattenpolizei’s Dutch funk mixes, and we wish to extend our sincere condolances to the Van Rooyen family. Jerry will be missed, and may his music find its way to many ears both young and old for generations to come.
